Holiday Roadtrip 2016 — Day 1


DECEMBER 16: LEAVING NEW YORK


NESCONSET, NY: Thinking of family and the season with warm memories as I prepare to head off on my holiday adventure.…


NESCONSET, NY: Started loading the Jeep in the morning while it was still light so it would be all packed and ready to go when my workday was finished. Bringing everything for camp and unsure of the weather down in Florida at this time of year, so prepared for any situation. Here in NY it is very very cold…


NEW YORK: Travelling at night traffic is a little bit better than usual and I made it to the Verazzano Bridge in good time. The temperature was a wintery 22 degrees Farenheit. Heat and music both blasting as I headed south to Georgetown, Delaware for the night. As I drove through New Jersey highway messages reminded me of a winter storm warning in effect, though luckily I got through before any snowfall. I arrived to my location near the Delaware/Maryland border around midnight and it was raining, though temperatures near enough to freezing to still feel like winter. The plan was to get an early start in the morning …
